For a long time we have been aware of the presence of ashes in Örviken. It is a residual product from the roasting of pyrites from previous industrial activities. The largest occurrence is in the sawmill area. Investigations show that it is also found in other parts of Mittiörudden, i.e. along Timmerviksvägen.
The application for funding to carry out this project will be finalized during the first part of 2026. If the application is successful and the requested funds are in place, an environmental assessment will be carried out. Excavation can then begin in 2027 with a planned completion in 2028.
